思覺失調症患者在臨床上經常會一再復發住院，病人不但呈現正性症狀干擾，認知功能顯著退化，也讓家屬對此疾病的病程演變與治療產生許多疑惑與困擾，然而多數患者的症狀惡化與不規則服用藥物高度相關。本小組希望藉由此工具，協助這類型患者瞭解疾病的預後與規則用藥的關聯性，並提供長效針劑抗精神病用藥的選擇給病人與其家屬瞭解，透過醫病共享決策輔助工具(PDA)的介入、充分提供醫療資訊及瞭解病人需求後，讓病人做出最適合自己的決定，進而提高病人對於口服抗精神病藥或注射長效針劑抗精神病藥物的遵從性。
